LIBRARY a learning resource centre is the soul of the institution. It acquires, organizes, preserves and disseminates the information to the uses. The Library participates directly in the college commitment to teaching, research and the development of new knowledge. SKPFGC has a well established library which caters to the needs of the undergraduate students and faculties. It is housed in a spacious and attractive building. The library collection comprises of Reference and Text Books, periodicals, CD-Rom, question bank, project reports, journals back volumes.

LIBRARY DETAILS

Reference Service
Library has a rich collection of books in reference section for its users. Previous year question papers, Dictionaries, Atlas, Encyclopedias & Handbooks are available for Reference.

Referral Service
Students in need of depth & diverged information will be referred to use other reputed libraries like VVCE, Mysore University Library.

Book Recommendation
Students & Staff can recommend any subject books that are useful for their academics.

Reprographic Service
A Photocopier has been added to Library for the benefit of users.

Circulation
• The Library Circulation System is Automated using EASYLIB Software. Barcoded ID Cards have been issued to all the Members.
• Each Undergraduate student is provided 02 books
• The Teaching staff members can borrow 05books.
• Students with distinction marks in their previous semesters are given one additional book.

About SKPFGC Library & Information Centre
Information is a vital resource and is an essential input for enhanced productivity for any developmental work. Over the years there has been an exponential growth in information, besides which the development in the field of Information technology has resulted in the introduction of information services based on computers. A good & well-equipped Library & Information center is an essential entity of any organization.

RULES AND REGULATIONS
The following rules are binding on all the Members of the Library
1. To Enroll as Library Members the Students shall fill in the prescribed application and submit the same along with 2 Latest Passport size photographs along with necessary receipt/s of the Library fees/Deposits.
2. The faculty members may enroll themselves as library member on production of a copy of the appointment orders and 2 Passport size latest Photographs.
3. Users should carry their identity cards while entering library.
4. Each UG student member is entitled to Borrow 2 Books.
5. All the students should renew their Borrower’s tickets at the start of every Odd Semesters.
6. The members can retain the books with them for a period of one fortnight {15days} only. Overdue books will be charged with a stipulated fine.
7. Members with long over dues will lose their library membership.
8. Books once lent out of the library should not be carried back into the library before discharging the same at the Circulation Counter.
9. A borrower borrowing a book shall note that the book is in sound condition, before leaving the Circulation counter. He/she will be responsible for any mutilation or damage caused to the book after it is lent out. They shall have to make good of the damaged book.
10. If the books borrowed is a part of a set or volumes & the same is damaged or lost the borrower concerned shall be liable to replace the whole set.
11. In case the lost books are not replaced with new one the borrower will have to pay twice the cost of the book.
12. Members shouldn’t write, or make any marks in the materials that are part of Library.
Tracing or mechanical reproduction (Photocopying / Scanning) of the documents shall not be made without the permission of the Librarian.
13. A member who loses the Borrower’s Ticket shall lodge a written complaint of the same to the Librarian. Duplicate tickets will be issued in such cases only after a period of 30 days from such notice & paying the prescribed fee. The Member shall be responsible for any misuse of the Lost Borrower’s ticket.
14. The Members are requested not to misplace the books from one place to another; they shall leave the books on the reference tables after consulting; the library staff will replace the books to their respective positions.
15. Members are prohibited from – chatting, smoking, carrying the bags, umbrella windcheaters, boxes & other receptacles into the library. They should not carry their personal books (reading materials) into the library, except in special cases with the permission of the librarian. Members are requested to keep their belongings at the entrance of the Library. However they are advised not to leave cell phones, purse, money, credit card and other valuables in the handbag outside the library. These items are liable to be lost.
16. Strict and absolute silence shall be observed in the Library.
17. Under special circumstances, the librarian will have powers to refuse admission into the library to any person or the use of any book or material without assigning any reason.
ANY INFRINGEMENT OF THE RULES BY THE MEMBERS WILL LEAD TO CANCELLATION OF THEIR MEMBERSHIP & THEY SHALL NOT BE ALLOWED TO ENTER THE LIBRARY.
